Pneumonia

Pneumonia is the infection of one or both lungs
caused by either bacteria, viruses, fungal infection,
or germs. In the majority of cases, it is caused by
the pneumococcus bacterium.

Other organism such as the streptococcus, or
staphylococcus bacteria cause bronchopneumonia.

Bronchopneumonia is an inflammation of the bronchi
and the alveoli of the lungs.

In a typical case of pneumonia, a person starts with a
slight cold and is suddenly taken over by chills, and
sharp stabbing pains in the chest. The most common
symptoms of pneumonia are high fever, coughing,
chest pain, difficult breathing, rapid pulse, and thick
yellowish-green phlegm streaked with blood.

If pneumonia is not treated, it could lead to serious
complications such as empyema (pus in lung cavity),
meningitis, or abscess of the brain.

Since, there are several different kinds of pneumonia,
pneumonia may occur more than once in the same
individual.

Homeopathic Treatment Goal for Pneumonia

Conventional medicine uses antibiotics to treat bacterial
pneumonia. Antibiotics kill bacteria. They kill the good
bacteria as well as the bad bacteria. This causes an
unstable balance between friendly bacteria and harmful
bacteria which weakens the immune system and allows
disease to follow.

Do not take a cough suppressant. Doing so, may lead to
the obstruction of the airways.

The homeopathic goal is to focus primarily on strengthening
the immune system to fight infection.
