Menopause

Menopause, commonly known as the "change of life",
is the period during which ovulation and menstruation
comes to an end in a woman between the age of forty-
five and fifty. It is produced when there is adecrease in
the secretion of hormones, estrogen and progesterone
by the ovaries. Artificial menopause may result from
surgical removal of the ovaries.

In some women, menopause may occur with only minor
disturbances, but with others, symptoms can last from a
few months to a few years.

The early symptoms of menopause are irregularity of the
menstrual periods with decreased flow. The menstrual flow
becomes smaller in amount, the time between periods
lengthen, and finally ceases. The most common symptoms
associated with menopause are hot flashes and sweating.
They may be limited to the face and neck, or to the upper
chest. The flushes come on at any time, without any apparent
cause.

Other symptoms include occasional depression, joint pain,
irritability, sleep disturbances, mood swings, vaginal dryness,
loss of libido, vaginal itching, anxiety attack, and an irritable
bladder.

The possible complications involved with menopause are
osteoporosis, heart disease, and urinary tract infection.

Homeopathic Treatment Goal for Menopause

Conventional medicine treats menopause with hormone
replacement therapy (HRT). Questions concerningHRT
are being raised, because the side effects causedby
the treatmentare worse than the symptoms. HRT
increases the risk of cancer, stroke, and heart attack.

Help is needed to ease hormonal imbalance. Homeopathic
remediesare diluted to the infinitesimal dose, they stimulate
hormone balance and relieve menopausal symptoms without
causing any side effects.
